Baby Shower and Update

Sorry it's been so long!! Gavin is getting soo big and exciting! He kicks and punches so much now! Last night, I pushed on his little foot and he kicked me back for about 20 minutes! If he's still following our last ultrasound; he should hit 6lbs this week! I don't have gestational diabetes!! Everything is looking pretty good so far!! My blood pressure is going up a little bit; but probably nothing to be worried about! It also looks/ feels like Gavin dropped this weekend! Everything that we've read says that babies come about 2-4 weeks after they drop; we'll see if that's true! It's nice though; because now I can breathe A LOT better again; and his kicks are lower too; which is nice! My mom said that we "frightened" him by going to a late night action movie (Rocknrolla); he kicked and flipped for about 30 minutes toward the end! Josh took his hand off of my belly b/c he didn't like how it felt! That'll prob be the last time we see a movie after 10 for awhile!
I had an awesome baby shower about a week and a half ago! Thank you Carlie, Crystal, Debi, and Kimberly!!! We got so many awesome things for Gavin that we needed!! I've been spending a lot of time washing clothes, blankies, etc. It's fun to put it all away in his room!! We also finally found a glider chair and ottoman this weekend that matches his furniture and that we're both very pleased with! Thanks Gramma and Gramps! Josh is going to put it together this weekend and I'll try to post pics of his room again! My mom is going to come up again this weekend for a major cleaning of the upstairs fest! Hopefully, we will get it all done this weekend and it will be just waiting for Gavin to get here!!! I've been having lots and lots of Braxton Hicks and cramping; I guess that's how you get prepared for real labor! We have our birthing class next Sat (15). I'm sure we'll have some great stories to post about that experience! I'm hoping that we feel more prepared for labor after that; b/c quite frankly, I'm totally freaking out about the whole thing! I've got my hospital bag almost packed; we found Gavin's going home outfit last weekend! It's so cute!

Columbus Day Weekend :)

Wow!! Columbus Day Weekend was busy!! On Friday, I had to take my 3 hr glucose test. YUCK!! I failed my one hour test; but only border line; so, hopefully, the 3 hr went better!! (I had to get stuck 5 times!! 1 time didn't work; that's why there were 5! AND fast for 14 hrs!!) On Saturday, my mom came and helped me put up Gavin's border and finish de-cluttering his room!! It's looking like a little boy's room now!! We still have A LOT left to do!! Gavin needs a mattress and bedding!! LOL!! We're working on it!! And decorations on his walls!! The guest room is improving; not great but looking a little bit better!! Josh was awesome this weekend and cleaned up all 3 bathrooms for me!!!!! Josh's Aunt Marian sent us an adorable Santa outfit and bib for Gavin, how cute!!!

Last week, we had to go for an "emergency" dr's visit and a regular dr's visit. I've been having contractions with no dilation (YAY); which just means it's time to start cutting back on work and after work and weekend activities. The good thing about the dr's visit is that we were able to go back to the specialist: and my placenta previa is gone!!!! YAY!! Apparently, Gavin's head is very low in my pelvis, which is as painful as it sounds! And, 0n 10/2 Gavin weighed approx. 3.5 lbs!! What a big boy!! He's measuring about 2 weeks ahead with his weight and I'm also measuring about 2 weeks ahead as well; not that that means anything!! I think he's just going to be a big boy! We're seeing the dr every two weeks now! Only 9 weeks to go!!

Weekend Trip To VA Beach!

Two weekends ago my (Katie) Aunt Patty and Uncle Bruce visited and stayed at the Marriott in VA beach!! Which is our fav; because we LOVE the pool!! It was in the mid-90's and a great pool/ beach day!! Gavin loved it! He even got his first "ride" on a waterslide! I was 26 weeks prego in this pic and in the OBX pic with "Aunt" Tosha I was 13 weeks. It's amazing the difference in 13 weeks! Perhaps my black suit would have been more slimming!! The pic with the four of us, is my Aunt Patty, my Mom, and my sis Michelle. :)

Gavin's Clothes :)

It's hard to believe that this little guy could have soo many clothes already!! I haven't added his new Steelers pj's, his Steelers bibs, or his Steelers socks yet into his Steelers "section". As you can see, Gavin has a 45 gallon bin of clothes that Aunt Tosha and I picked up a month or so ago from a sweet Craigslister in VA Beach! I was able to hand pick all of the clothes that I wanted from 8 tubs of clothes that she had! Wow, and I thought we had a lot of clothes!! We're hoping to get some serious work done upstairs this weekend!! (In Gavin's room and our poor, stacked to the ceiling with clutter guest room!)

Labor Day Weekend!

Labor Day weekend was VERY busy for us!! We painted Gavin's room to match his border (this will be a later project!) and Josh put together his dresser (it took 5 hours! but everyone who reviewed it online said it would take that long!) and his crib!!! We still have to replace the electrical outlets and then his furniture can go where it belongs; but here are a few pics of our progress! We're both looking forward to a long weekend in PA this weekend!! Go STEELERS!!!

Gavin's New Pic

Well, Gavin sure does like to get his picture taken! This latest one is from his 6th ultrasound, taken last week(week 23). After two failed attempts to view Gavin's heart, he finally decided to co-operate and everything looks fine, thank you for your prayers. The weeks are flying by, but we hope to use Labor day weekend to paint Gavin's room and assemble his crib and dresser. Gavin is also becoming very active... punching and kicking Katie day and night... I've been able to feel him as well, pretty sweet... no doubt he's excited for football season to start!
